Bone Marrow Aspirate Injections
Bone marrow contains a high number of stem cells or precursor cells that have the potential to replicate and transform into cells of any tissue. It may be aspirated and concentrated to form a biologic therapy agent that is particularly useful for the healing of bone, cartilage, and tendon. It also contains growth factors, progenitor cells, platelets and white blood cells which aid the healing process. The aspirate is usually drawn from the iliac bone in your hip or from your shin bone. It is then concentrated in a centrifuge machine and injected directly into the desired area to promote healing.
